The east coast of the United Arab Emirates is a small section lying in between two regions of Oman, the Musandam Peninsula and the region surrounding Musqat. Towns that tourists might know in this area are Dibba, Khor Fakkan with its access to Shark Island and Fujeirah. Fujeirah is one of the seven emirates being the only one which is not surrounded by deserts but by mountains making it a green village with a lot of farming opportunities. It is easy to book daytrips from Dubai although we recommend making it a multiple day tours because the distance is pretty far. Besides, you haven't seen the UAE without spending some time on its eastern coral reefs and brilliant beach islands.

Diving the east coast of the United Arab Emirates is completely different compared to Arabian Gulf diving. It is not known for its phenomenal wreck dives but more for its coral reefs which are plentiful, diverse and filled with marine life. Warmer waters with more tropical fish are brought here by the currents from the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea (Indian Ocean). Fish species such as moray eels, lion fish, pipefish, stonefish, gobies and clownfish are pretty common. Enjoy this destination as it is one of the few remote destinations in the world left having a lot of potential. The months June and July experience heavy plankton booms which make the waters murky and reduce visibilities. Besides, those months are too hot to be in the UAE anyway.
